PATRICK DE LOUWERE AND BART EIJKING: UNITED THEY LEAD
eijkingdelouwere, established by the Louwere and Eijking in 2004, gave a boost to their career facilitating maximum freedom in design and implementation. The project in the firm comprises urban planning, architecture, interior and product design. They went further to start their furniture brand, Studio Lawrence, in 2007.
Both the designers have their own working style but both work with the same aesthetic morale and drive combining the rich artistic and academic understanding of design. Their individual approach enhances each other’s perception and leads to successful design process. Technical rigour and creative fervour form the basis of their work. Each productwith distinct trait exhibits their attention towards detail and signature style along with their fascination for sequences and composition.
Louwere and Eijking architecture employ the unadulterated form of the natural materials; their furniture is made with vibrant crafted colour palettes. They thrive to fulfil their client’s criteria by coming up with a unique product each time, be it in the sector of architecture or furniture.
The duo has bagged numerous awards and honours, conferred upon them by different magazines and associations all across the globe. In 2001, they swept off the first prize in the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects Competition. They were the winners of the two Best of the Year Awards by Interior Design Magazine in 2006 and Merit of the Year award in 2007 and 2011. The Good Design Award was bestowed upon them in 2010. This year they took away the Interior Innovation Award by German Design Council for their two products Raising Lantern and To Gather.
